Located in the high-density Busasamana sector of Nyanza District, Groupe Scolaire Hanika serves over 760 girls both in Primary and lower secondary levels of education who currently face risks of absenteeism and dropout due to stigma, lack of sanitary supplies, and inadequate facilities. This project will establish a girls hygiene room at this public, day school to address the critical lack of safe, private spaces for Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) and emotional support for adolescent girls.
By establishing a dedicated, inclusive space equipped with sanitary products and offering privacy, the project aims to improve the health, well-being, and academic retention of adolescent girls. This initiative directly targets the intersection of health and education, ensuring that girls from low-income families and marginalized backgrounds can thrive in a supportive school environment.
