Gataraga market construction

About this Project

Gataraga Sector in Musanze District of the Northern Province of Rwanda lacks a proper market space where traders can sell their goods. Today, about 2000 traders gather in an open space on the roadside selling fresh food items, clothing and other household items. This open space market operates two days a week and traders have to leave by midday to protect their merchandise from sun & rain. The community would like to construct a sheltered market space which will protect traders currently selling on the ground in an open space from harsh conditions such as scorching sun and rain, provide security for their goods, improve local commerce and incomes for the traders.
